Tactile tiles for city sidewalks
Tactile tiles on the streets of the city are a special coating that helps people with disabilities, such as the blind and visually impaired, navigate. They are used to create a tactile track that guides people in the right direction and allows them to move around the city safely.
Tactile tiles have a relief surface, which consists of small ledges and ribs. They are often installed on sidewalks, squares, stations and other public places to help people with disabilities move in the right direction and avoid obstacles.
Tactile tiles can be made from a variety of materials such as polymer sand, concrete, ceramic, plastic, metal, and more. They are strong and durable, which ensures their reliability in operation.
Tactile tiles on the streets of the city are an important part of the city's infrastructure, which allows you to provide a comfortable and safe environment for the movement of all citizens.
By installing tactile tiles and signs for the disabled, you can improve the comfort of movement in the parking lot, make it safer and more convenient for all citizens.
Installation of tactile tiles on the sidewalk
Installing tactile tiles is an important step in creating a barrier-free environment for people with disabilities. Here are the instructions for installing concrete or polymer sand tactile tiles:- Prepare the installation surface. Make sure that the surface on which the tile will be installed is even and flat. If the surface is not level, correct it with brick, cement, or other materials.
- Mark the places where the tactile tiles will be installed. Use a string or marker to mark the outlines and location of the tiles.
- Prepare the solution. To install concrete and polymer sand tiles, use ready-mixed concrete mortar or mix cement, sand and water
- Apply the solution to the installation surface. Spread the mortar evenly over the areas where the tiles will be installed.
- Install tiles. Slowly and carefully place the tiles in place, following the pre-marked contours. Make sure the tiles fit snugly together and have equal gaps.
- Align the tiles. Use a rail or other tool to align the tiles horizontally and vertically. Make sure the tiles are level and firmly anchored in the mortar.
- Stitch the seams. After installing the tiles, grout the seams between them with a special tool to ensure a smooth surface.
- Let the solution dry. Leave the installed tiles for several hours to allow the mortar to dry and set.
A special polyurethane adhesive is used to install the polyurethane overlay tactile tiles.
Installing tactile tiles requires certain skills and tools, so it is recommended to hire professionals to do the job.
