Classification of directional columns - edge signal columns of SN

Guideposts SN are designed to ensure the visibility of the outer edge of the roadside in the dark and in adverse weather conditions


MV guide columns according to DSTU 8751:2017 are classified as:


a) depending on the presence and color of the light-reflecting element:

     one-sided with a red reflective element (СН1);
     double-sided with a red and white reflective element, located
     from opposite sides (СН2);


b) depending on the design:

     type A — CH, which cannot be used after hitting a vehicle;
     type B — CH, which can be restored after hitting a vehicle and are subject to repeated use;
     type B — SN, capable of tilting and independently returning to the original vertical position after hitting a vehicle


c) depending on the material of the case:

     "M" - metal;
     "P" — plastic;
     "D" - wooden;
     "ZB" - reinforced concrete;
     "AC" - asbestos-cement;
     "K" - combined.


Conditional signs of CH for recording in documents and in orders according to DSTU 8751:2017 should consist of an abbreviated name, the number of light-reflecting elements CH1 (one, red) or CH2 (two, red and white), the type of construction, the material of the housing, the total height, the height of the above-ground part (without specifying the dimensions) and the mark of this standard or another regulatory document on the product, developed and approved in the established manner.


So, in the previous DSTU, signal road volumetric plastic posts were marked C1, in DSTU 8751:2017 they have the following marking - СН2 - А - П - 1.6 (1.0) DSTU 8751

Two-sided guide posts with red and white reflective elements located on opposite sides - "СН2"

Able to bend and independently return to the initial vertical position after hitting a vehicle - type "B"

Case manufacturing material - Plastic - "P"

The total height is 1.6m, the height of the above-ground part is 1m – 1.6 (1.0)

Eligibility: DSTU 8751

According to DSTU, the characteristics of the guide posts of the CH should be:

     width 0.12 - 0.15 m,
     total height 1.3 - 1.7 m
     the upper part can be inclined towards the roadway at an angle of 20-30 degrees or horizontal.
     SN must have reflective elements: red on the right in the direction of movement, and white on the left.



Lemus guide posts meet the requirements of DSTU 8715.
